Garajonay National Park is located on the island of La Gomera, one of the Canary Islands, Spain. It was declared a National Park in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. The park covers an area of 14,000 hectares and is home to the largest laurel forest in the world, a subtropical rainforest ecosystem that is unique to the Canary Islands. The park features a diverse array of flora and fauna, including over 1,000 species of plants and numerous bird species, as well as a number of scenic hiking trails that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors to the park can also explore the ancient Gomeran villages and traditional rural architecture that are found throughout the area.
