Parc ornithologique de Pont-de-Gau is a nature reserve located in the Camargue region of southern France. It covers an area of 60 hectares and is dedicated to the conservation and observation of migratory birds, particularly flamingos. The park was founded in 1949 and is one of the oldest and most famous bird parks in France.
Visitors to the park can observe a wide variety of birds in their natural habitats, including herons, egrets, storks, ducks, and waders. The highlight of the park is undoubtedly the flamingos, which can be seen in large numbers during the breeding season from April to August.
The park is divided into different zones that represent different habitats, such as marshes, ponds, and meadows. Visitors can follow a marked trail through the park to observe the different species of birds and learn about their behavior and ecology. There are also observation huts and hides that allow visitors to get closer to the birds without disturbing them.
