Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus in German) is a historic building located atop the Kehlstein Mountain in Berchtesgaden, Germany. It was originally built as a gift for Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday by the Nazi Party in 1937.

The building, which is situated at an altitude of 1,834 meters (6,017 feet), was used by Hitler as a retreat and for entertaining high-ranking officials. However, he only visited the Eagle's Nest a handful of times and never spent a night there.

After World War II, the building was seized by the US Army and later transferred to the German government. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction and is open to the public from May to October each year. Visitors can reach the Eagle's Nest via a 6.5 km long road and then an elevator that goes up 124 meters through solid rock.

The building itself is a marvel of engineering and features a large fireplace, oak paneling, and a marble-lined hall. The large terrace offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including the Watzmann massif and the Hoher Goell.

Despite its dark history, the Eagle's Nest remains a popular destination for tourists and history enthusiasts, who visit the site to learn more about the events that shaped the course of World War II.
