The St. Florian Monastery (Stift Sankt Florian) is a historic Benedictine monastery located in the town of Sankt Florian, near Linz, in Upper Austria. Founded in the 9th century, the St. Florian Monastery is one of the largest and most important monastic complexes in Austria, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, architectural splendor, and significant contributions to religion, education, and the arts.

The St. Florian Monastery is dedicated to Saint Florian, the patron saint of firefighters and Upper Austria, and is known for its magnificent Baroque architecture, exquisite interiors, and impressive collections of art, music, and literature. The monastery's stunning Basilica of St. Florian is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Austria, with its grand façade, towering twin towers, and lavishly decorated interiors that feature intricate stucco decorations, gilded sculptures, frescoes, and a magnificent organ, which is one of the largest and oldest in Europe.

The monastery's library is also a highlight of the St. Florian Monastery, housing an extensive collection of over 150,000 volumes of books, manuscripts, incunabula, and rare and valuable works from the Middle Ages to the present day. The library's impressive holdings include theological, philosophical, historical, and scientific works, as well as a diverse range of literature, art, and music that reflects the monastery's commitment to scholarship, learning, and cultural preservation.
