Olesko Castle is a Renaissance fortress located in the town of Olesko in western Ukraine. Built in the late 16th century, it served as a residence for Polish nobility and became one of the most important centers of culture and art in the region.

The castle was founded by a Polish nobleman named Jan Kmita, who later became the starost of Sambor. He purchased the land in 1580 and began construction on the castle. The castle was built on top of a hill overlooking the San River, making it an ideal location for defense.

Over the centuries, the castle changed hands several times and was owned by a number of prominent Polish families. It was also occupied by Russian and Austrian forces during various conflicts. During World War II, the castle was used as a military hospital by German forces.
