Monte Leon National Park is located on the coast of Santa Cruz Province in southern Argentina, approximately 140 km south of the city of Rio Gallegos. The park covers an area of about 6,000 hectares and is situated on a peninsula that juts out into the South Atlantic Ocean. It was established in 2004 with the aim of protecting the unique Patagonian coastal environment and its biodiversity.

The park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including sea lions, Magellanic penguins, southern elephant seals, and several species of birds such as the cormorant, the crested caracara, and the southern giant petrel. It also has an important breeding colony of southern right whales.

Monte Leon National Park is known for its stunning coastal cliffs, pebble beaches, and turquoise waters. The park has several hiking trails that provide visitors with the opportunity to explore the area and observe the wildlife. There are also several viewpoints where visitors can take in the panoramic views of the coast and the surrounding landscape.
