Grassalkovich Palace is an 18th-century baroque palace located in the Old Town of Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is the official residence of the President of Slovakia and also serves as a venue for state visits and other official events.
The palace was built in the mid-18th century by Count Anton Grassalkovich, a Hungarian nobleman who served as the chief advisor to Empress Maria Theresa. It was designed by the prominent Austrian architect Anton Mayerhofer and features a distinctive pink-and-white facade with ornate stucco decorations.
The interior of the palace is equally impressive, with richly decorated rooms featuring chandeliers, frescoes, and antique furnishings. The centerpiece of the palace is the Mirror Hall, a grand ballroom with a ceiling adorned with frescoes depicting scenes from Greek mythology.
In addition to serving as the presidential residence, the palace is also home to the Slovak National Council, the country's legislative body. Visitors can take guided tours of the palace, which include access to the Mirror Hall and other historic rooms.
