Galata Museo del Mare, also known as the Galata Sea Museum, is a maritime museum located in the Galata district of Istanbul, Turkey. The museum was opened in 2007 and is dedicated to the history of navigation, the sea, and the maritime traditions of Istanbul.

The museum is located in a restored 19th-century building that was formerly a naval arsenal. It houses a collection of over 1,000 objects related to maritime history, including model ships, navigation instruments, maps, paintings, photographs, and documents. The exhibits are spread across three floors and are arranged chronologically, starting with the ancient civilizations of the Mediterranean and continuing through the Ottoman Empire and into the modern era.

One of the highlights of the museum is the reconstructed deck of a 19th-century Ottoman ship, complete with its rigging, cannons, and a life-size mannequin crew. Another notable exhibit is the replica of the Piri Reis Map, a 16th-century map of the world that was discovered in Istanbul in the early 20th century and is considered one of the most important maps of its time.

Visitors to the museum can also experience a simulation of a ship in a storm, watch films about the history of navigation, and enjoy interactive exhibits that allow them to learn more about various aspects of maritime life. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions, lectures, and other events related to maritime history and culture.
