The Chocolate Hills are a geological formation located in the Bohol province of the Philippines. They are made up of thousands of small, dome-shaped hills that are covered in green vegetation during the rainy season, and turn brown and resemble chocolate mounds during the dry season, hence their name.
The Chocolate Hills are estimated to be between 1,268 and 2,774 years old and are considered to be one of the country's most popular tourist attractions. They are considered to be a unique natural wonder, and have been designated as a National Geological Monument by the Philippine government.
Visitors can see the hills from a viewing deck in the town of Carmen, or from a viewpoint located near the town of Sagbayan. There are also several hiking trails and bike tours that allow visitors to explore the hills up close and experience the lush green landscape that covers them.
