Brescia castle, also known as "Falcon d'Italia" (the Falcon of Italy), is a medieval castle located on the hill of Cidneo in the city of Brescia, Lombardy, Italy. It is considered one of the most important military fortifications of Lombardy and one of the largest castles in Italy.
The castle was built in the 14th century and expanded in the following centuries. Its strategic position allowed it to control the surrounding territories and the city of Brescia, which was a major economic and cultural center during the Renaissance period.
Today, the castle is home to several museums, including the Arms Museum, the Risorgimento Museum, and the Museum of the City of Brescia. The Arms Museum displays a vast collection of weapons and armor from the Middle Ages to the 19th century, while the Risorgimento Museum exhibits documents, artifacts, and memorabilia from the period of Italian unification. The Museum of the City of Brescia, located in the castle's Torre del Popolo (Tower of the People), houses a collection of art and artifacts that tell the story of the city's history from Roman times to the present day.
