Villa Adriana, also known as Hadrian's Villa, is an ancient Roman complex located in Tivoli, Italy, approximately 20 miles east of Rome. It was built by the Emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD as his retreat from Rome.

The villa is a vast complex consisting of more than 30 buildings, including imperial palaces, baths, theaters, libraries, and temples. It also includes numerous gardens, fountains, and artificial lakes. The complex was built over an area of more than 300 acres and features a unique blend of architectural styles from across the Roman Empire.

One of the most striking features of the villa is the Canopus, a large pool lined with statues and surrounded by colonnades, which was inspired by the Egyptian city of Canopus. Another notable feature is the Maritime Theater, a small island connected to the main villa by a bridge, which was designed to resemble a ship.

Villa Adriana has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy. It is a testament to the power and influence of the Roman Empire, and remains an important historical and cultural site to this day.
