Thor's Well is a natural wonder located in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area on the Oregon Coast, USA. It is a natural saltwater fountain that creates a hole in the ground through which the ocean water spouts up like a geyser. The hole is about 20 feet in diameter and around 15 feet deep, and it's located in a rocky shelf that's just a few feet above the ocean's surface.
Thor's Well is actually a collapsed sea cave that's been eroded by the ocean over time. During high tide, the ocean water fills the hole and spills over the edges, creating a spectacular sight. As the water flows back into the ocean, it creates a vacuum that sucks in more water, creating a continuous cycle. The sight is especially dramatic during storms or high surf, when the water gushes out of the hole with great force.
Although Thor's Well is an amazing natural phenomenon, it can also be dangerous, especially during high tide or stormy weather. The rocks around the well can be slippery, and visitors are advised to exercise caution and stay away from the edges. Visitors can access Thor's Well via a short trail from the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center.
