Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, is a Buddhist temple in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is one of the most sacred and important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists in Nepal and is also considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The temple is believed to have been founded around the 5th century and is one of the oldest Buddhist shrines in the world.

The main attraction of the temple is the large stupa (a Buddhist dome-shaped monument) that is covered with colorful prayer flags, statues, and paintings. The stupa has a distinctive style, with a white dome and a spire with a pair of eyes painted on it, which symbolizes the all-seeing eyes of the Buddha. At the base of the stupa is a large platform with a series of shrines, statues, and prayer wheels, which are used by Buddhists for ritual purposes.

The temple complex also includes several other smaller stupas, temples, and monasteries, which are home to many Buddhist monks and nuns. The complex is surrounded by lush green forests and is located on top of a hill, which offers breathtaking views of the Kathmandu Valley.
