Ribeira Square (Portuguese: Praça da Ribeira) is a historic square located in the Ribeira neighborhood of Porto, Portugal. It is considered one of the most important tourist attractions in the city and one of the most famous squares in Portugal. The square is surrounded by historic buildings, including the Palácio da Bolsa (Stock Exchange Palace) and the São Francisco Church, as well as a variety of traditional taverns and restaurants. Ribeira Square is also the starting point of a lively nightlife in the city and it is considered a perfect place to enjoy the night with a drink and some Portuguese music. Additionally, it offers a breathtaking view of the Douro River, which is crossed by the Dom Luis I Bridge, one of the city's main landmarks. In 2012, Ribeira Square was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as part of the "Porto Historic Centre".
