Philbrook Museum of Art is a fine arts museum located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. It is housed in a 1920s Italian Renaissance-style mansion, which was originally built by oilman Waite Phillips and his wife Genevieve. In 1938, they donated the property, its furnishings, and their extensive art collection to the city of Tulsa. The museum opened to the public in 1939.
The museum's permanent collection includes over 14,000 works of art, ranging from African, American, and European art to Native American and Asian art. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and works on paper. Notable artists in the collection include Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Charles Loloma.
The museum has several exhibition spaces, including the original Phillips family home, which has been restored to its 1920s appearance, and a modern addition that houses changing exhibitions. The gardens surrounding the museum feature sculptures, fountains, and walking paths.
Philbrook Museum of Art also offers a range of educational programs for all ages, including tours, workshops, lectures, and classes. There is also a restaurant on the museum's grounds, called La Villa, which serves French-inspired cuisine and offers views of the gardens.
