The Lincoln Memorial is a national monument located in Washington D.C., USA, dedicated to the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It was built between 1914 and 1922, and is one of the most visited tourist sites in the nation's capital.

The Memorial is a large, classic Greek temple-style building made of marble, located on the western end of the National Mall. It features a large statue of Lincoln sitting in contemplation, surrounded by 36 columns representing the states in the Union at the time of Lincoln's death. The walls of the Memorial are engraved with two of Lincoln's most famous speeches, the Gettysburg Address and his second Inaugural Address.
