Laghi di Fusine, also known as the Fusine Lakes, are two alpine lakes located in the northeastern Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The lakes, Lago Inferiore (Lower Lake) and Lago Superiore (Upper Lake), are situated in the Julian Alps and are surrounded by forests and mountains, providing a picturesque landscape.
The Lower Lake is smaller and shallower than the Upper Lake and has a more turquoise color due to the presence of calcium carbonate in the water. The Upper Lake is larger and deeper, and its waters are a deep emerald green color.
The area surrounding the lakes is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and skiing during the winter months. There are several hiking trails that lead to stunning panoramic views of the lakes and the surrounding mountains.
Visitors can also enjoy water sports such as swimming, kayaking, and canoeing on the lakes. There are also several restaurants and cafes around the lakes where visitors can relax and enjoy the scenery while sampling local cuisine.
