Jardin de Cactus (Cactus Garden) is a botanical garden located in the town of Guatiza in the northeastern part of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. The garden is dedicated to showcasing and preserving the diversity of cactus and succulent species from around the world.
The garden was designed by the famous Canarian artist César Manrique, who repurposed an old quarry to create the garden. It features over 7,000 species of cacti and succulents from various parts of the world, including the Canary Islands, Madagascar, and South America. The collection is organized into several themed areas, including a section for giant cacti, a desert landscape area, and a rock garden.
The main entrance to the garden is through an impressive metal gate in the shape of a cactus, designed by Manrique himself. The garden also has a small store where visitors can purchase souvenirs, as well as a cafe serving local food and drinks.
