The Franschhoek Motor Museum is a car museum located in Franschhoek, South Africa, about an hour's drive from Cape Town. It was opened to the public in 2007 and is home to a collection of over 220 vintage, classic, and racing cars, motorcycles, and bicycles.
The museum is housed in four display halls, each representing a different era in motoring history. The first hall focuses on the early years of motoring, with a range of cars dating from the late 1800s to the 1930s. The second hall showcases cars from the 1940s to the 1960s, including many American classics.
The halls are re-arranged every 3-4 months, depending on theme or anniversary. The collection features a range of high-performance sports cars, racing cars and motorcycles, including Formula One cars and vintage bikes.
There are also some unique and quirky vehicles, such as a 1950s BMW Isetta bubble car and a 1957 Messerschmitt cabin scooter.
The museum is open to the public seven days a week and offers guided tours, as well as a café and gift shop. It is a popular attraction for car enthusiasts and tourists visiting the Franschhoek wine region.
