El Yunque National Forest is a subtropical rainforest located in northeastern Puerto Rico. It is part of the United States National Forest System and is the only tropical rainforest in the national forest system. The forest covers 28,000 acres of land and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including over 240 species of trees, 50 species of ferns, and numerous species of birds, reptiles, and mammals.
One of the main attractions of El Yunque is the many hiking trails that offer visitors the opportunity to explore the lush vegetation and stunning scenery. The forest is also home to several waterfalls, including La Mina, which is a popular spot for swimming.
