Copper Canyon, also known as the Barrancas del Cobre, is a network of canyons located in the southwestern region of Chihuahua, Mexico. The canyon system is larger and deeper than the Grand Canyon in the United States. It is made up of six separate canyons, including the Urique Canyon which is the deepest.

Copper Canyon is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including the protected Mexican grey wolf, jaguars, and over 300 species of birds. The indigenous Tarahumara people, who have lived in the region for centuries, still maintain many of their traditional ways of life and are known for their running abilities.

Tourism is a growing industry in the region, with visitors coming to hike, camp, and ride the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railway, which winds its way through the canyons. The railway offers stunning views of the canyon system, as well as the Sierra Madre Mountains and the surrounding desert.
