Cáceres is a city in the Extremadura region of western Spain. Its history dates back to the pre-Roman era and its old town, Ciudad Monumental, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, containing many well-preserved buildings from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

One of the most notable landmarks in Cáceres is the Ciudad Monumental, a walled area with many palaces, mansions, churches, and convents, most of which date back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Some of the most notable buildings in the old town include the Palacio de las Veletas, the Casa del Sol, the Palacio de los Golfines de Abajo, and the Casa de los Cáceres-Ovando.

Another significant monument in Cáceres is the Torre del Bujaco, a tower built in the 12th century that was part of the city's defensive system. Other notable landmarks in the city include the Arco de la Estrella, a triumphal arch built in the 18th century, and the Concatedral de Santa María, a 16th-century church.

Cáceres is also known for its gastronomy, which includes dishes such as migas (fried breadcrumbs with chorizo and other ingredients), cochinillo asado (roast suckling pig), and torta del casar (a type of cheese made from sheep's milk).
