AquaRio is a public aquarium located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is the largest marine aquarium in South America, covering an area of 26,000 square meters. The aquarium was opened in November 2016 and is situated in the revitalized area of Porto Maravilha, on the banks of the Guanabara Bay.

AquaRio houses more than 8,000 marine animals from 350 different species, including sharks, rays, seahorses, sea turtles, and colorful fish. The main attraction of the aquarium is a massive tank that holds 3.5 million liters of saltwater and is home to a variety of shark species. Visitors can walk through a tunnel that runs through the tank, providing an up-close and immersive experience with the animals.

The aquarium also has several other exhibits, such as the Amazonian Tank, showcasing the freshwater species of the Amazon River; the Octopus and Jellyfish exhibit; the Coral Reef exhibit, highlighting the importance of coral conservation; and the Mangrove exhibit, which recreates the coastal mangrove environment.

In addition to its exhibits, AquaRio offers educational programs and activities, such as guided tours, lectures, and workshops, aimed at promoting marine conservation and environmental awareness. The aquarium also has a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and a cinema showing marine-themed films.

AquaRio is open daily and has different ticket options, including general admission and behind-the-scenes tours. It is a popular attraction for both locals and tourists visiting Rio de Janeiro.
