The Wellington Cable Car is a funicular railway located in Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand. It operates from Lambton Quay in the central business district to Kelburn, a suburb of Wellington situated on the hills overlooking the city. The cable car has been in operation since 1902 and is a popular tourist attraction, offering panoramic views of the city and the surrounding hills.

The cable car runs on a 612-meter-long track and climbs 120 meters in altitude, taking approximately five minutes to complete the journey. The cable car can carry up to 100 passengers in each direction and operates every 10 minutes during peak hours.

At the top of the cable car, visitors can explore the Kelburn Lookout, which offers stunning views of Wellington's harbor and skyline. There are also several walking tracks in the area, including the Wellington Botanic Garden, which is home to a variety of native and exotic plants.

The Wellington Cable Car Museum, located at the cable car's upper terminal, provides information on the history and operation of the cable car. Visitors can learn about the cable car's construction, view historic photographs, and even see some of the original equipment used in the cable car's early days.
