Wadi Rum is a valley in southern Jordan known for its red sandstone mountains, desert landscapes, and unique rock formations. It is a protected area, and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Jordan, attracting visitors from all over the world.

The Wadi Rum desert covers an area of about 720 square km, and is surrounded by towering sandstone cliffs and mountains that rise up to 1700 meters above sea level. The desert is home to a number of Bedouin communities, and is considered one of the last remaining truly authentic desert areas in the world.

Wadi Rum is also known for its rich cultural heritage, and has been inhabited by the Bedouins for thousands of years. In recent years, the area has become increasingly popular as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, including rock climbers, hikers, and campers. The area also offers opportunities for horse riding, camel treks, and hot air balloon rides.

In addition to its natural beauty, Wadi Rum is also famous for its association with the famous British officer T.E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, who used the area as a base during the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire in the First World War.
