Villa di Poggio a Caiano is a Renaissance villa located in the town of Poggio a Caiano, in the province of Prato, Tuscany, Italy. The villa was designed and built by the famous architect Giuliano da Sangallo in the 15th century, under the commission of Lorenzo de' Medici, also known as Lorenzo il Magnifico, who wanted to create a luxurious country residence for himself and his family.

The villa is a beautiful example of Renaissance architecture, characterized by its harmonious proportions and elegant lines. The façade features a loggia with three arches, supported by columns and pilasters, and decorated with elegant sculptures and friezes. The interior of the villa is equally impressive, with its sumptuous rooms, decorated with frescoes, stucco work, and other artworks.

One of the most famous rooms in the villa is the Sala di Leone X (Leo X Hall), which is named after Pope Leo X, who was a member of the Medici family. The hall is decorated with frescoes by Andrea del Sarto and his workshop, depicting scenes from the life of the Medici family.

The villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which were designed in the 16th century by Niccolò Triburgo, a disciple of Michelangelo. The gardens are characterized by their formal design, with geometric patterns, fountains, and statues, and offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Today, the Villa di Poggio a Caiano is a museum, open to the public, and offers visitors the chance to explore its beautiful interior and gardens, and learn more about the history and culture of Renaissance Tuscany.
