The Tower of David is an ancient citadel located near the Jaffa Gate entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. The original construction of the tower dates back to the second century BCE during the Hasmonean period, and it has since undergone numerous renovations and additions by various conquerors, including the Romans, Byzantines, Crusaders, Mamluks, and Ottomans.

The tower served as a strategic military position for centuries, controlling the main road from Jaffa to Jerusalem. During the Ottoman period, it was used as a prison and police station. In the 20th century, it was converted into a museum that tells the story of the history of Jerusalem from the Bronze Age to modern times.

The museum displays archaeological finds from the ancient city, including pottery, coins, and other artifacts. Visitors can also climb to the top of the tower to enjoy panoramic views of Jerusalem and the surrounding area. Today, the Tower of David is one of Jerusalem's most popular tourist attractions and serves as a symbol of the city's rich and complex history.
