The Tennessee Aquarium is a non-profit public aquarium located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States. It was opened on May 1, 1992, and is located on the banks of the Tennessee River, in the heart of downtown Chattanooga. The aquarium houses more than 12,000 animals and over 900 species. It is home to two buildings, the River Journey and Ocean Journey buildings, that are connected by a 60-foot (18 m) glass pedestrian bridge.

The River Journey building is the first building that visitors encounter and focuses on the freshwater environments of the southeastern United States. The exhibit displays the river habitats of Tennessee and showcases a variety of aquatic animals, including giant catfish, otters, alligators, turtles, and dozens of species of fish.

The Ocean Journey building, which opened in 2005, takes visitors on an adventure through the world's oceans and features animals from all over the world. The exhibit showcases the creatures of the Gulf of Mexico and the tropical waters of the Caribbean, as well as the coral reefs of the South Pacific, and the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It includes exhibits of penguins, sea turtles, sharks, jellyfish, and many other species.
