Shanghai Zoo is a large animal park located in the western suburbs of Shanghai, China. The zoo was opened in 1954 and covers an area of 743,000 square meters. It is home to over 6,000 animals from more than 600 different species, including giant pandas, South China tigers, and Yangtze alligators.

The zoo is divided into several themed areas, including the China area, the African area, the Australian area, and the Primate area. Each area features different animals from their respective regions, with a focus on conservation and education.

One of the most popular exhibits at Shanghai Zoo is the giant panda exhibit, which features both indoor and outdoor enclosures for visitors to observe the pandas up close. Visitors can also see a variety of other rare and endangered species, including golden snub-nosed monkeys, red pandas, and Siberian tigers.

In addition to animal exhibits, Shanghai Zoo also features a large aquarium, which houses over 10,000 fish and other aquatic animals. The aquarium has several themed areas, including a coral reef exhibit, a shark tunnel, and a touch pool where visitors can interact with starfish and other marine creatures.

The zoo offers a range of educational programs and activities for visitors of all ages, including guided tours, animal encounters, and a children's zoo. There are also several restaurants and snack bars located throughout the park, as well as a gift shop selling souvenirs and animal-themed merchandise.
