Rotterdam Centraal Station is the main train station in Rotterdam, the second-largest city in the Netherlands. It was first opened in 1877 and has since undergone several renovations and expansions to accommodate the growing number of passengers.
The current station building, designed by architect Harry G. J. Nefkens, was completed in 2014 and features a modern and spacious design with a large glass ceiling that allows natural light to flood the interior. It has 7 tracks for intercity trains, as well as 4 tracks for regional trains, making it a major transportation hub in the country.
In addition to trains, the station also offers access to the Rotterdam Metro and several tram and bus lines, making it easy to connect to other parts of the city and beyond. The station also features a shopping center with a wide range of stores and restaurants, as well as a bicycle parking area with space for over 5,000 bicycles.
