The Porte du Peyrou is a triumphal arch located in Montpellier, in the south of France. It was built between 1691 and 1693 by the French architect Francois Dorbay to celebrate the glory of King Louis XIV. The arch is located at the east end of the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, which is a large open space that provides a panoramic view of the city.

The Porte du Peyrou is considered one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in France. The arch is made of limestone and features elaborate carvings and sculptures that depict important events from the reign of Louis XIV. The central pediment is topped by a statue of the king on horseback, while the sides of the arch are decorated with statues of his generals and allegorical figures.

The arch was originally built as part of a larger project to create a grand royal promenade in Montpellier. However, the project was never fully realized and the Porte du Peyrou remains as the only major element of the plan. Today, the arch is a popular tourist attraction and is often used as a backdrop for events and festivals in Montpellier.
