Piazza Walther, also known as Waltherplatz, is a large square located in the heart of Bolzano, a city in northern Italy. The square is named after the German poet Walther von der Vogelweide, who lived in the 12th century.

Piazza Walther is surrounded by historic buildings, including the Gothic-style Duomo di Bolzano, the Palazzo Mercantile, and the elegant 19th-century buildings that line the square. The square is also home to the famous Walther von der Vogelweide statue, which was created by Heinrich Natter in 1889.

The square is a popular gathering place for both locals and tourists, and it hosts many cultural events and festivals throughout the year. In the summer months, the square is filled with outdoor cafes and street performers, and in the winter, it is transformed into a festive Christmas market.

Piazza Walther is also an important transportation hub in Bolzano, with several bus lines stopping at the square and a tramway station located nearby. From the square, visitors can easily explore Bolzano's historic city center and the surrounding mountains and vineyards of the South Tyrol region.
