The National Sea Life Centre Birmingham is an aquarium located in the city of Birmingham, England. It is located in the Brindleyplace development, next to the Birmingham Canal Navigations Main Line canal. The National Sea Life Centre opened to the public in 1996, and features over 2,000 creatures in over 60 displays of both freshwater and marine life.
The main attraction at the National Sea Life Centre Birmingham is the Ocean Tunnel, a 360-degree transparent tunnel which takes visitors through a giant ocean tank, with sharks, rays, and tropical fish swimming all around them. Other popular exhibits include a rock pool experience, jellyfish discovery, penguin exhibit, and a sea turtle rescue center. The centre is also actively involved in marine conservation efforts and has several educational programs for school children.
The National Sea Life Centre is part of the global Sea Life chain of aquariums and has sister locations in other cities across the UK and around the world. It is open seven days a week and tickets can be purchased online or on-site.
