Naqsh-e Jahan Square, also known as Imam Square, is one of the largest city squares in the world and a major tourist destination in the city of Isfahan, Iran. The square was built during the Safavid dynasty and was originally used as a royal polo field and as a venue for the display of military parades. Today, it is surrounded by historic buildings and monuments, including the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, the Ali Qapu Palace, the Qeysarie Gate, and the Imam Mosque.
