Maquinit Hot Spring is a popular tourist destination in the Philippines, located in Coron, Palawan. It is the only saltwater hot spring in the country, and one of the few in the world. The spring is located at the base of a hill and is fed by a geothermal source that heats the water to temperatures ranging from 38 to 40 degrees Celsius (100 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit).
Visitors can enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot spring, which is surrounded by lush vegetation and offers views of the nearby mountains. The water is believed to have therapeutic properties due to its high salt content and mineral composition, which include sulfur, calcium, and magnesium.
In addition to the hot spring, the area also offers hiking and nature trails, kayaking, and boat tours. The surrounding forest is home to a variety of wildlife, including monitor lizards, macaque monkeys, and various bird species.
Maquinit Hot Spring is accessible by car or motorbike from Coron town, which is approximately 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) away. It is open to visitors daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and admission fees are affordable.
