Lake Enriquillo is a large, saltwater lake located in the Dominican Republic. It is the largest lake in the Caribbean and the lowest point in the whole of the West Indies. The lake covers an area of approximately 140 square miles and is located in the southwestern part of the country, near the border with Haiti.
The lake is home to a large number of unique species of flora and fauna, including a large population of American crocodiles, one of the largest populations in the world.
