Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Hanuman Dhoka Square, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the heart of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It is one of the three royal palaces located in the Kathmandu Valley and was once the residence of the Nepalese royal family until the 19th century.

The square is surrounded by numerous temples and palaces, including the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar (home of the living goddess), Taleju Temple, and the Basantapur Tower. The architecture of the square reflects the rich culture and history of Nepal, with intricate carvings and sculptures on the buildings.

The square is also home to the famous Kasthamandap, a three-storied wooden temple believed to have been built from the wood of a single tree. Unfortunately, the temple was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake that devastated Nepal, but reconstruction efforts are underway to restore it.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is a popular tourist destination, with visitors coming to marvel at the intricate architecture and soak in the history and culture of Nepal. It is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Nepal.
