The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art and antiquities museum of the University of Cambridge, located in central Cambridge, England. It was founded in 1816 with a bequest of artworks and funds from the politician Richard FitzWilliam, 7th Viscount FitzWilliam.

The museum's collection covers over 5,000 years of art and artefacts from around the world. It has significant holdings of European paintings, drawings, and prints, with notable collections of French, Italian, and Dutch art from the 15th to the 21st century. The museum also has a strong collection of applied arts, including ceramics, glass, and furniture, with particular strengths in 18th-century French porcelain and English pottery.

Other highlights of the collection include Egyptian antiquities, medieval illuminated manuscripts, and a large collection of coins and medals. The museum is also home to the Palmerston Forts Society's collection of military history and weaponry, with a particular focus on the 19th and 20th centuries.

In addition to its permanent collection, the Fitzwilliam Museum also hosts a wide range of temporary exhibitions and public events throughout the year, as well as a program of lectures, workshops, and educational activities for visitors of all ages. Admission to the museum is free, although donations are welcomed.
