The Edison and Ford Winter Estates is a historic site located in Fort Myers, Florida, United States. The site comprises the former winter estates of famous inventors Thomas Edison and Henry Ford.
The site features twenty acres of gardens and nine historic buildings including Edison’s Botanic Research Laboratory and Ford’s winter estate. The main house of Edison is known as “Seminole Lodge” while Ford’s house is called “The Mangoes”. The site also houses a museum that contains thousands of artifacts, inventions, and photographs from the two inventors’ lives.
Visitors can take guided tours of the site, which includes the historic homes, gardens, and laboratory. They can also see a collection of vintage Ford vehicles, Edison’s early electric generator and a vast collection of his inventions. There is also a museum store and a restaurant on-site.
