The Modena Cathedral, also known as the Duomo di Modena, is a Romanesque cathedral located in Modena, Italy. It was constructed between 1099 and 1184 AD and is known for its intricate carvings and sculptures.

The exterior of the cathedral is decorated with a number of sculptures, including the famous "Lion's Door" and "Modena Cathedral Portal." The latter features a relief of Christ in Majesty surrounded by the symbols of the four evangelists, as well as a number of other figures and scenes from the Bible. The cathedral also has a tall bell tower, which is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks.

Inside, the cathedral is decorated with a number of frescoes and mosaics. The nave is lined with marble columns, and the apse is decorated with a mosaic of Christ in Majesty. One of the most notable features of the interior is the wooden ceiling, which is made up of a series of interlocking panels decorated with scenes from the Bible.

The cathedral is also home to the Chapel of Saint Geminianus, the patron saint of Modena. The chapel contains a number of relics, including the saint's skull and his pastoral staff.

The Modena Cathedral is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the most important examples of Romanesque architecture in Italy. It is also home to the Ghirlandina Tower, which is another one of the city's most recognizable landmarks.
