The Capitole de Toulouse is a historic building located in the heart of Toulouse, France. It serves as the city hall and also houses the Théâtre du Capitole, an opera house and ballet company.

The Capitole was originally built in the 12th century as a town hall for the citizens of Toulouse. The building was renovated and expanded over the centuries, with major work taking place in the 17th and 18th centuries. The current facade was completed in 1759 and is a stunning example of the neoclassical style, featuring columns, pediments, and ornate carvings.

Inside, the Capitole is equally impressive, with a grand staircase leading up to the Salle des Illustres, a ceremonial room decorated with frescoes and portraits of famous Toulousains. The building also houses the Salle des Pas Perdus, a spacious hall with marble floors and a beautiful ceiling painted with scenes of Toulouse history.

The Théâtre du Capitole, located within the Capitole building, is a renowned venue for opera and ballet performances. The theater was originally built in the 18th century, but was extensively renovated and modernized in the 1990s. It now boasts state-of-the-art acoustics and staging equipment, while still retaining its historic charm.
