Capela das Almas, also known as the Chapel of Souls, is a historic church located in the heart of Porto, Portugal. It was built in the 18th century and is famous for its unique facade covered with blue and white ceramic tiles, which depict scenes from the life of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Catherine. The church is located on Rua de Santa Catarina, one of Porto's busiest shopping streets.
Inside, the church is relatively simple, with a central nave flanked by two side aisles. The altarpiece is made of carved wood and gilded in gold, and there are several images of saints on display. The walls are decorated with painted tiles that depict scenes from the life of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Immaculate Conception. The chapel's most notable feature is the life-size statue of Christ wearing the Crown of Thorns that stands at the top of the main altar.
