Burana Tower is a historical monument located in the Chui Valley, about 80 km east of the capital city of Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. The tower was originally part of a large city called Balasagun, which was a major cultural and political center of the Karakhanid Empire in the 11th and 12th centuries.

The Burana Tower is the only remaining structure from the ancient city and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tower was built in the 11th century and is 25 meters tall. It has a unique structure with a circular base that gradually narrows towards the top. The tower is made of mud bricks and is adorned with intricate carvings and decorative patterns.

In addition to the tower, the Burana archaeological site also includes the ruins of a palace, a mausoleum, a mosque, and a number of grave markers. The site is believed to have been a center for Islamic culture and learning during the Karakhanid period.

Today, the Burana Tower is a popular tourist attraction in Kyrgyzstan and visitors can climb to the top of the tower for a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. The site also hosts a museum with exhibits on the history and culture of the region, as well as a variety of cultural events and festivals throughout the year.
