The Blue Eye (Syri i Kaltër in Albanian) is a natural spring located in southern Albania, near the town of Saranda. The spring is named after its crystal-clear, blue-tinted water, which is so clear that you can see all the way down to the bottom, over 50 meters (160 feet) deep.
The water of the spring is a beautiful and vibrant blue-green color, created by the sunlight reflecting off the white limestone at the bottom of the pool. The Blue Eye is also surrounded by lush green vegetation and trees, making it an even more stunning and picturesque location.
The spring is fed by an underground river and has a constant temperature of around 10-12°C (50-54°F) all year round. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the spring from a small platform that has been built above the water. It's a popular spot for swimming and diving, although swimming in the Blue Eye is not allowed due to its depth and strong currents.
The Blue Eye is a popular tourist attraction in Albania and can be reached by car or bus from the nearby town of Saranda. Visitors are advised to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds, especially during peak tourist season in the summer months.
