Blåvatnet or Blåvatn (in Norwegian) is a scenic lake situated in the municipality of Saltdal in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Saltfjellet–Svartisen National Park, about 13 kilometers (8.1 mi) east of the E6 highway and 51 kilometers (31.7 mi) south of the town of Bodø.
Blåvatnet is known for its deep blue color which is due to the fine sediments of minerals that reflect the sunlight. The lake is also surrounded by tall, snow-capped mountains which provide a stunning backdrop for the lake. Visitors can hike to the lake, and there are several trails available, some more challenging than others. The hike to Blåvatnet is approximately 5.5 kilometers (3.4 mi) one way and takes around 2-3 hours to complete.
