Aquarium du Périgord Noir is a public aquarium located in Le Bugue, France. It opened its doors to visitors in 1988 and has since been a popular attraction in the region.
The aquarium's main focus is to showcase freshwater fish species that are native to the rivers and streams of the Dordogne region of France. Visitors can see over 6000 fish from 30 different species, including trout, pike, and sturgeon, as well as other freshwater creatures such as frogs and crayfish.
Aquarium du Périgord Noir also has a touch pool where visitors can interact with various species of freshwater fish, and a breeding and research facility where visitors can learn about the conservation efforts of the aquarium.
The aquarium is housed in a former paper mill and features displays of aquatic life in a series of interconnected ponds and tanks. The aquarium also has an outdoor garden with waterfalls, a pond, and a playground for children.
