Amarbayasgalant Monastery is a magnificent Buddhist monastery located in the Selenge Province of northern Mongolia. It is considered one of the three largest Buddhist centers in the country, along with Gandantegchinlen Monastery and Erdene Zuu Monastery.
The monastery was built between 1727 and 1736 under the patronage of the Manchu emperor Yongzheng. It is dedicated to the teachings of the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism and is known for its beautiful architecture, artwork, and religious artifacts. The name "Amarbayasgalant" means "blessed by peace and tranquility," reflecting the serene atmosphere of the monastery and the surrounding countryside.
The monastery consists of a main temple and several smaller temples and administrative buildings, all enclosed within a wall. The main temple, the Zuu of Buddha Amitayus, is a three-story structure with a golden roof and intricate carvings and paintings on its interior walls. The other temples include the Zuu of Buddha Sakyamuni, the Zuu of Tsogchin, and the Zuu of Gombo.
