The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is a Bulgarian Orthodox cathedral located in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria. It is one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world and is named after the Russian Prince Alexander Nevsky, who was revered as a saint by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The cathedral was built in the late 19th century as a symbol of gratitude to Russia for its help in freeing Bulgaria from Ottoman rule. The cathedral is renowned for its magnificent architecture, featuring a central dome surrounded by four smaller ones, and a bell tower that rises to a height of 53 meters.
