Wat Xiengthong is a Buddhist temple located in the ancient city of Luang Prabang in northern Laos. It is considered to be one of the most significant and beautiful temples in Laos and is a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims alike.

The temple was built in 1560 by King Setthathirat and is known for its ornate architectural details and intricate carvings. The temple's roof is adorned with traditional Lao designs, while its walls feature detailed murals depicting scenes from Buddhist mythology and Lao history.

The temple complex is composed of several structures, including a main hall, a secondary hall, a pavilion, and several smaller buildings. The main hall is home to a large Buddha statue that is considered to be one of the most important and sacred images in Laos.

The temple is situated on the banks of the Mekong River and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can enjoy strolling through the temple complex and admiring the intricate details of its architecture, as well as participating in traditional Buddhist ceremonies and practices.

Wat Xiengthong is also the site of several important cultural and religious festivals throughout the year, including the annual Lao New Year celebration in April and the Boat Racing Festival in October.
