Volubilis is an ancient Roman city located in Morocco, near the city of Meknes. It was founded in the 3rd century BC and was an important center of Roman administration in North Africa. The city was situated in a fertile agricultural region and was renowned for its olive groves, vineyards, and wheat fields.

Volubilis was built on a hill overlooking the surrounding countryside and was surrounded by a wall with towers and gates. The city's main features include a triumphal arch, basilica, capitolium, and forum. The buildings in Volubilis were constructed with local materials such as stone and brick, and some were adorned with mosaics and frescoes.

The city was also home to a sizable population of Christians who lived peacefully alongside their pagan neighbors. Volubilis continued to thrive under Arab rule until it was abandoned in the 11th century. Today, the ruins of Volubilis are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are open to visitors who can explore the remains of this ancient city and marvel at its impressive architecture and rich history.
